SECURITY / MODEL
Privacy in Bluetune is not a setting you hunt for — it is how the transport is built. What gets encrypted, what you control, and where data lives.
01ENCRYPTION
Messages are encrypted on the sending device and decrypted only on the receiving device. Everything in between carries ciphertext it cannot read.
The scheme is the Signal Protocol — open, published, and independently studied. It works whether or not you ever think about it.
- PROTOCOL
- Signal Protocol
- COVERAGE
- Every chat, end to end
- PROPERTY
- Only you and the recipient can read a message
02VISIBILITY
Reachable is not the same as observable. Three signals, three independent rules — set each to Everyone, My contacts, or Nobody, and change it at any time.
- LAST SEEN
- When you were last active. Everyone / My contacts / Nobody
- ONLINE
- Whether you’re in the app right now. Everyone / My contacts / Nobody
- PROFILE PHOTO
- The picture shown next to your name. Everyone / My contacts / Nobody
03BLOCKING
Blocking is absolute and reviewable. Every blocked contact sits in one list in Settings — audit it, or reverse a decision, whenever you choose.
04DATA RESIDENCY
Bluetune runs on infrastructure operated by BiggerBlueButton, with datacenters in four regions and a 99.9% uptime guarantee.
